iPhone Apps for Radio Stations

The Toy Lounge, http://TheToyLounge.com/radio-stations , creates custom iPhone apps for radio stations. Whether your radio station is the traditional land-based type or an internet-only broadcaster, the Toy Lounge streaming radio application for the iPhone and iPod Touch can work for you.

Your radio stream needs to be a compatible AAC or MP3 stream; MP3 streams need to be 64k to work over a cell phone network. If you have both 128k and 64k streams, our iPhone radio app will alternate between the streams for best coverage. Please contact us at the Toy Lounge for more technical specs.

Enhance your radio station iPhone application with iTunes song tagging, banner advertising, sponsor info, Twittter and email links, and more. Get your radio station iPhone app up and running in 4 weeks or less! Please contact us at the Toy Lounge for a free quote on your custom radio station iPhone application or with any other questions.

Where's the rumored iPod Touch MediaPad?

This spring we heard a lot of rumors about a new giant iPod Touch, tentatively called the iPod MediaPad. Think of an iPod Touch on steroids, able to show HD video and ebooks in great fashion. Since then, not a single peep out of Apple. Is the iPod MediaPad destined to become an urban legend just like the flying cars we were promised by the year 2000?

New iPhone 3GS No Big Deal

The Toy Lounge reports from the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference on the new iPhone 3GS - it's not that big of a deal. No real need to upgrade from your iPhone 3G unless you really really need video on your phone. Otherwise we at the Toy Lounge recommend holding out until Apple releases the next version - especially if you have a lot of time left on your AT&T contract.

Speaking of Apple and AT&T - the Toy Lounge is also pulling for Apple to can their exclusive agreement with the ersatz Ma Bell and expand service to at least Verizon. A wider pool of iPhone users means better opportunities for us iPhone developers and that means more and better apps for all iPhone users. Are you listening, Apple?

iPhone Apps for Children's Books

Attention Children's Book Authors - having trouble getting your Children's Book published? Are you tired of sending out your book to publishers, only to never hear from them again, or get the standard rejection note? Or, are is your book already published but you receive a tiny royalty and there's no marketing for your book?

Think about creating an iPhone app for your Children's Book! Plus, your book applications will also work with the iPod Touch. Here are just a few of the benefits of self-publishing your book using an iPhone application:

* Your book gets published the way you want it
* You control the publishing process
* You are your own final editor
* You don't answer to anyone else
* You get ALL the proceeds (after Apple's 30% - is that better than your publisher's deal?)
* You can revise or upgrade the book as needed
* You can charge whatever you think is best for the book
* Nothing has to be printed or shipped (great environmentally)
* You don't need a publisher or an agent for this type of distribution
* If you already have a publishing deal, add your own iPhone app for the book and get even more exposure!
* Add sound, simple animation and social networking features to your book
* Link the book's app to your website or online store for other product sales and promotion of your other books
* And More!

Please contact us at the Toy Lounge for a free quote on making an iPhone application for your Children's book.

Over 1 Billion Apps Served!

Apple announced the one billionth app download from the iTunes App Store on Thursday April 23rd 2009! And guess what, it figures that the one billionth app would be a free one.

What's the lucky free app that will be the beneficiary of all the hoopla? It's Bump, a simple social networking app that "bumps" two phones together to exchange contact info. More on Bump to come, but our congratulations to Bump Technologies and also to 13 year old Connor Mulcahey of Weston, Connecticut, who gets the pile of goodies from Apple, including a new iPod Touch, a MacBook Pro, a Time Capsule and a $10,000 iTunes gift card!

Get ready for the second billion coming right up. Contact us at the Toy Lounge to get your own custom iPhone app started as soon as possible.
